All About MeI’m originally from a small town in southeast Iowa where I grew up the tenth child of thirteen! I am so blessed to have such a large supportive I married my high school sweetheart and have been married for 25 extraordinary years now. Doug and I have done a lot of moving around since we first said, “I do.” We spent our honeymoon years in and around Houston, Texas and spent almost every weekend with our friends on our boat, waterskiing and camping near Lake Livingston. We spent our next five years in Colorado Springs, hiking and snow skiing in the magnificent Rocky Mountains. Although they were great places to live, we missed our Midwestern lifestyle and opted to move back to the Heartland, where we own a small acreage and ride our horses in a little piece of heaven known as Iowa. About the time my youngest two entered kindergarten I began to suffer the “empty nest” syndrome. I had been able to stay home with the kids when they were young and didn’t want to go back to work yet. I suddenly had more time on my hands and found myself attached to my computer, writing my first novel. Understand that I had no clue as to how to write a book, or what point of view meant, or goal, motivation, or conflict. I just sat down and let the story spill from my head onto the keyboard. That was in the year 2001 and I haven’t stopped writing since. Be assured, I have taken numerous writing courses and joined several writing organizations that taught me how to become a better writer. I’ve attended several national writing conferences, as well, and have entered numerous contests and have actually won a few. I eventually did have to go back to work to help pay for gas and pizza, but my true passion is writing. More specifically, writing romance. I love to watch relationships take shape and go through trials and conflicts, finally reaching that much anticipated happily ever after. As a working mom and wife, I cherish every free moment of downtime, and I want to know that when I am swept away in a fictional world, I’ll be safe and it will eventually carry me to a happy ending. That’s it for now. God bless! Remember to cherish every blessing and never give up on your dreams!
